Sneek
Sneek is principally famous as a centre for yachting and offers the yachtsman an almost unlimited supply of lakes, canals and waterways. Sneek is also know as "the watergate" town, becauseof the beautiful Watergate (1613) which is all that remainsof old defensive works. Whilst you are exploring the town pay a visit to the 18th century town hall and the Friesian Shipping Museum (Fries Scheepvaart Museum) which houses a superb collection of model ships, paintings and silverware (for more information see:
